About Alchemie Solutions:
Alchemie is a Troy-based edtech company building born-accessible, interactive STEM learning tools - software designed from the ground up to work for all students, including blind and low-vision learners, not retrofitted after the fact. We're a small team (~8 people) with deep roots in chemistry and accessibility research, and we're growing fast: several major partnership deals are currently in motion that will significantly expand our reach.
Product Manager - What the ideal person brings to the table:
Core mix: Someone comfortable operating on both the business side and the software side - this isn't a pure technical PM role. At our size, this person will keep development projects moving and help grow business development and operations.
On the development/product side:
- Comfortable running or supporting a product roadmap and sprint cadence (doesn't need to code, but should be conversant enough with engineers to translate between business priorities and technical work)
- Organized - can track multiple in-flight projects without things falling through the cracks
- Curious enough to learn our product space (accessible STEM/edtech) quickly
On the business development/operations side:
- Confident representing Alchemie externally - partner meetings, customer conversations, deal discussions
- Some exposure to negotiation, partnerships, or sales processes is a plus
- Operationally minded - can help build the systems a small company needs as it scales
Background:
- Business knowledge (an MBA, relevant coursework, or equivalent experience) is a plus, not a requirement - we're open to people who come to PM work through engineering or operations rather than business school
- Detroit-area based - this is a priority, not a nice-to-have
- Early-career candidates welcome - this can be a strong opportunity to build real PM experience inside a tech startup with exposure to both sides of the business
- Scrappy, low-ego, comfortable with ambiguity
